My Music Journey

"To play a wrong note is insignificant, but to play without passion is inexcusable." - Aristotle

I was a professional musician for most of my life organising, managing and performing in many different venues and at events throughout Australia for over 20 years. I have a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Education from UNSW and have music teaching experience from kindergarten through to HSC level and have taught in the NSW prison system.

I played in various bands working regularly with The Works as a band and then a duo doing top 40 covers. I recorded with a number of original bands, have played classical guitar at weddings and functions, and performed in a 15 piece Latin band that also doubled as a 70’s funk band which was great fun.

One hard lesson I have learnt is that if you love music you need to protect your hearing. We never thought about that in the 80’s and now I have quite severe hearing loss. If anything, that has made me value music and sound more than ever. While I no longer play professionally, I do still enjoy making music any chance I get and play guitar and record in my home studio whenever I have time.
